Giordo was established in 1945 in the port of Genoa where the company was acting as fiduciary forwarder for import and export of bulk goods.
In 1992 the ownership decided to expand the range of activities becoming also shipping agency, in order to offer its clients a wider service.
Thanks to its resources and skills developed over the years in the maritime field, the company handles the requirements of all type of vessels.
Among the different types of goods treated, coal has always played a very important role. Thanks to this and to the large quantity of goods shipped, Giordo has consolidated a privileged relationship with Terminal Rinfuse Genova.
Giordo Head office is located in Genoa, where operational and financial services are centralized for a better coordination.
The harbour office is located in the core of the port bulk area, this allows a prompt reaction of the staff on board of the ships, should any problems occur.
Since October 2007 the company decided to directly handle the cargo logistics so thanks to the support of external partners, Giordo is able to offer its services throughout the national territory.
It’s able to represents its customer in Ravenna, Marghera, Vasto, Savona, La Spezia and Taranto port through the local shipping agency’s collaboration. It can assist all vessels docked in Genoa and in all italian ports.
Thanks to a very close cooperation with the most important maritime shipbrokers, Giordo srl is able to satisfy any vessel freight request supporting, step by step the maritime charterers.
Giordo offers a complete range of services 24/24 such as bunkering, brokerage and can assist its Customers through an in-house demurrage/claims department. It carry out all required Custom formalities for goods in transit in Italy or abroad.
